Marilyn Samuelson — Metal & Mixed Media Sculptor

Marilyn Samuelson has spent fifteen years twisting wire into vivid Trees of Life, Christmas Spiders, and wildlife scenes inspired by Alberta’s landscapes.

Her sculptures celebrate resilience, repurpose salvaged materials, and carry personal details for the collectors who commission them.

Rooted in discovery

Marilyn’s practice began when she peeled open scrap copper and saw endless possibilities in the wires beneath. That curiosity now fuels more than 100 sculptures living across Canada and beyond.

Stories in every branch

Marilyn weaves in beads, stones, initials, or wedding dates—details that give each piece its own heartbeat. “If the wire breaks, that’s part of it,” she says. “Trees don’t grow in straight lines.”

Materials with history

She sources stones during road trips, rescues driftwood, and repurposes metals. Animal figures and the iconic Burmis Tree often appear in her work.
