Artist Spotlight
Marilyn Bulger’s journey as a harpist intertwines music with healing, using her talent to bring comfort and connection through sound.
For Marilyn Bulger, playing the harp is all about how the music makes people feel. “I love playing at weddings, funerals, and for people in care. The music is good for people. It’s always been a positive experience, without a doubt.”
Her musical journey started with piano at age five, self-taught guitar in her teens, and ultimately the harp—an instrument that captured her passion and became a vehicle for healing, connection, and community.
Now based in the Hinton region, Marilyn combines formal training and therapeutic harp practice to share Celtic-inspired music and deeply personal compositions with local audiences.
Marilyn’s work spans performance, composition, and therapeutic practice.

“The nicest thing anyone ever said to me about my music was … ‘I usually experience music as something outside of myself, but when you played your harp, it went straight to my soul and I experienced it from within.’”
