Board of Directors

As a volunteer-led nonprofit, MECA is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for strategic direction, organizational oversight, and stewardship of our mission. Our board members contribute professional skills, lived experience, and community insight to help shape programs that uplift artists and enrich the cultural life of Hinton.

Kristin Braun

Chairperson · Hinton, Alberta

Kristin is a photographer with a strong commitment to the regional arts community. As Chairperson, she brings a creative and community-minded perspective while guiding MECA’s leadership, governance, and long-term planning.

Marilyn Bulger

Treasurer · Hinton, Alberta

Marilyn is a musician and potter who serves as MECA’s Treasurer, supporting governance, planning, outreach, and community engagement across the region.

Jasmine Ramratan

Jasmine is a local author who plays a central role in MECA’s development, partnerships, and long-term planning.

Joy Burkinshaw

An encaustic artist and active member of the regional arts community, Joy contributes creative leadership, program insight, and a passion for supporting local artists.

Joan Melvin

Joan is a writer, poet, music producer, and apostle of the spoken word. She supports MECA’s governance and community connections as an active board member contributing to planning, outreach, and organizational growth.
